I et intervju fra Official Nintendo Magazine får vi høre litt om hva Phoenix Wright skaper Shu Takumi synes om det nylig utgitte 3DS spillet Ace Attorney Dual Destinies, det første hovedspillet i serien han ikke har vært involvert i.
MC: With Ace Attorney 5 and Ace Attorney Investigations how does it feel to see your characters in the hands of other Capcom employees? We imagine it must be like a parent sending their child to school for the first day.
ST: “That’s an apt comparison. I do have mixed feelings about it sometimes. For instance, I was really surprised to see that after we focused on the new character of Apollo in the fourth game, the Dual Destinies team decided to bring Phoenix back. Ultimately, though, having creators other than myself take the helm of the series is a valid choice, as it brings new directions and new story possibilities.
The team on the new game have looked at what the essence of Ace Attorney is, and as long as they can give the fans another great game to enjoy, I’ll be happy. After all, the fact that the series is still going over a decade after I made the first game is something I couldn’t possibly have imagined in the first place.”
Lit trist å høre at det ikke ser ut som han ble konsulert med at all på Dual Destinies.Kan jo være derfor kvaliteten på spillet ikke ble helt på topp, men samtidig er jo Takumi den som ville pushe Phoenix bort fra hovedrollen i serien.
Det ryktes at han rett og slett er utbrent på serien, og det faktum at Ace Attorney 4 brøt såpass mye med persongalleriet i serien kan jo også tyde på dette.
Så sånn sett er det kanskje ikke så dumt å la noen nye folk som har lyst og motivasjon få føre serien videre?
